"Your skin is your largest organ", I'm sure all of us have heard this dozens of times over the years. However, how many of us actually take it seriously?
As I'm writing this, it's currently November in Michigan with PLENTY of snow to go around! Heaters are blasting on high, leaving hands and feet feeling dry and uncomfy. Nothing better for dry skin than lotion, am i right? However, with lots of toxins and fake fragrances in store bought lotions, that's not something I want to put on MY skin. Welcome to the beauty of DIY! Here's some of my favorites:
This recipe is great for arms and legs and smells amazing! Perfect for pampering, a spa day, or just next to your bed :)

Instructions:
In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil and cocoa butter. As soon as it's melted, remove from heat.
Incorporate avocado oil and vanilla bean powder. Then pour it into a glass bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes (You want a solidified ring around the edge)
Add in the Christmas Spirit and mix with a hand mixer until fluffy.
Store in glass containers (I use mason jars)
This one is great for daily wear and helps to cleanse and and unclog pores!

Winter also means chapped lips and possible cracking- no one wants that! These final three recipes below are the perfect solution to chapped lips and can even be used as emergency lotion in a pinch ;)
